A message from our President

Rochelle Gooden-Williams
Ecclesiastes the third chapter and verses 1 through 8 teach us that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.

We acknowledge that there are times to weep, to mourn, and to be silent. However, today, with forty-seven new and enthusiastic Sorors it is Monroe Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter's time:
-
To plant into young African American girls and women in our communities’ seeds of self-love, self-worth, optimism, faith, and fortitude through our Educational Development and Youth Initiatives.
-
To build and empower our communities with financial education and economic advancement through our Financial Fortitude initiative.
-
To embrace and promote awareness around the physical and mental well-being of individuals, ensuring that wellness remains a cornerstone of our outreach.
-
To speak out, to engage, and to be a leading and informed voice in our community on the public policies and legislation that impact the Black community through intentional Social Action.
-
To deliver impactful, sustainable programs that create measurable, lasting change in the lives of those we serve.

And finally, to love, to laugh, and to thrive in the joy of our beloved sisterhood.

Thank you for your confidence in me to continue to lead our chapter as we boldly step into this new season. With unity, purpose, and unwavering sisterhood, we will rise to every occasion, plant seeds of greatness, and transform lives – together. This is our time, and we will walk in it with grace, intention, and the enduring spirit of Delta Sigma Theta.

As we launch our official chapter website, we celebrate a milestone that reflects the vision and dedication of our immediate Past President, Dr. Beverly Walker. This achievement is one of many goals realized under her leadership. Thank you, Dr. Walker, and your cabinet, for your commitment and tireless work in bringing this vision to life.
Yours in Delta,
Rochelle Gooden-Williams
